Reef Nutrient SupplementsGuided by Science, Not Guesswork

TRITON Organics are a line of six reef aquarium nutrient supplements — nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic support products — guided by TRITON N-DOC test results and the proprietary N:C:P Ratio, enabling data-driven dosing instead of blind supplementation. Your N-DOC results reveal your reef's N:C:P balance. These supplements restore it — without blind dosing.

The N-DOC Connection

Your N-DOC Results Guide Your Dosing

TRITON Organics products are the direct response to N-DOC test results. N-DOC combined with ICP testing is the only diagnostic system in aquaristics that measures the complete Nitrogen-to-Carbon-to-Phosphorus ratio — using TIC, TOC, and TNb analysis alongside ICP-OES water parameters. When that ratio shows a deficiency, the N-DOC analysis provides specific dosing instructions for the matching TRITON Organics product — eliminating guesswork from nutrient supplementation.

N-DOC + ICP measure what no other aquarium test can: the complete Nitrogen-to-Carbon-to-Phosphorus ratio in your reef. When that ratio is off — whether nitrogen is too low, phosphorus is missing, or organic carbon needs support — these six products restore balance based on data, not estimation.

TRITON is the only company where the diagnostic test and the corrective supplement come from the same laboratory. This is the closed loop: Test. Understand. Dose. Backed by over a decade of scientific research into natural seawater chemistry and closed systems, and more than 500,000 ICP-OES analyses performed since 2008.

"With N-DOC and Organics, we closed the last gap in reef nutrient management. For the first time, reefers can measure their organic balance and correct it — no more blind dosing, no more guessing."

Test

Send a water sample. N-DOC measures TIC, TOC, and TNb — three parameters no other test can quantify.

Understand

Your N:C:P Ratio reveals which nutrients are deficient — nitrogen, phosphorus, or organic carbon balance. Phosphorus (P) measured either by ICP testing or with your own test kit.

Dose

Your results include specific product and dosage recommendations — the right TRITON Organics product, how much, how often.

Retest

Monitor your progress with follow-up N-DOC tests. Adjust dosing as your reef's nutrient balance evolves.

Choose the Right Product

Which Nutrient Supplement Do You Need?

TRITON uses an Alpha/Beta system for nitrogen and phosphorus supplements. Alpha variants — TRITON NH Alpha and TRITON P Alpha — are for reef aquariums without cyanobacteria or nuisance algae. Beta variants — TRITON NO Beta and TRITON P Beta — are for systems where cyanobacteria or algae are present alongside the nutrient deficiency. The choice depends on your aquarium's biological condition, confirmed by N-DOC testing.

Do you have cyanobacteria or nuisance algae?

This determines whether you need Alpha or Beta variants.

Alpha Path
No — System is healthy

Your reef has no cyanobacteria or nuisance algae issues. You need nutrient supplementation without addressing bacterial imbalances.

or
Beta Path
Yes — Cyano or algae present

Your reef has active cyanobacteria or nuisance algae alongside the nutrient deficiency. Beta variants address both problems.

Need Organic Support?

Are you running an ULNS system or already using external carbon dosing?

Active cyanobacteria outbreak? Treat the acute problem first with TRITON CYA-NO, then use Beta variants for ongoing nutrient management. CYA-NO treats active outbreaks. Beta supplements address ongoing nutrient balance in systems with cyano. Treat active outbreaks first

Nitrogen Deficiency Indicators

Fading coral coloration, tissue necrosis (RTN/STN), declining overall vitality. If your corals are losing color despite stable calcium and alkalinity, nitrogen may be the missing factor.

Phosphorus Deficiency Indicators

Coral color loss, tissue recession, ultra-low PO4 readings on ICP-OES analysis. Phosphorus deficiency limits coral growth and weakens skeletal structure — especially in SPS-dominant systems.

Not sure about your nutrient levels? A TRITON N-DOC test measures your nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus balance — and your results include specific product and dosage recommendations.

Nitrogen Balance

Nitrogen Supplements — Restore What Your Corals Consume

TRITON NH Alpha and TRITON NO Beta deliver organic and inorganic nitrogen compounds to reef aquariums with confirmed nitrogen deficiency. NH Alpha is for systems without cyanobacteria issues. NO Beta is for systems with active cyanobacteria or nuisance algae. Both support the TRITON Ratio and are dosed according to N-DOC analysis results, with a parallel PO4 target of 0.02 to 0.07 mg/L.

When your reef's nitrogen levels drop below what corals, algae, and microbial life need, the consequences show quickly: fading colors, tissue necrosis, declining vitality. Two variants — because the right response depends on your reef's condition, not just its chemistry.

Organic Support

Organic Support Systems — Sustained N:C:P Balance

TRITON Bio Base and TRITON Bio Base ULNS are organic support systems that accelerate beneficial metabolic processes, boost trace element uptake, and help prevent cyanobacteria. The critical difference is composition: Bio Base contains organic carbon for normal nutrient systems. Bio Base ULNS contains no organic carbon, making it compatible with external carbon dosing in ultra-low nutrient (<9 mg/L NO₃) reef aquariums. Both are dosed at 1ml per 50ml Core7, up to a maximum of 5ml per 50ml Core7.

Bio Base and Bio Base ULNS are complete organic support systems — not individual nutrient corrections, but holistic N:C:P management. They accelerate beneficial metabolic processes, boost trace element uptake, and help prevent cyanobacteria.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Carbon dosing adds organic carbon compounds to a reef aquarium to fuel beneficial bacterial metabolism and support nutrient processing. TRITON Bio Base is a precision-formulated organic support system that includes organic carbon — engineered for the TRITON N:C:P Ratio, not generic vodka or sugar dosing methods. TRITON Bio Base ULNS offers the same support without organic carbon, designed for ultra-low nutrient systems or tanks already using external carbon sources.

TRITON offers two nitrogen supplements guided by N-DOC testing. TRITON NH Alpha delivers organic and inorganic nitrogen compounds for systems without cyanobacteria or nuisance algae. TRITON NO Beta provides the same nitrogen support but is formulated for systems with active cyano or algae problems. For optimal results, run a TRITON N-DOC analysis first — dosing instructions appear in your results. Without N-DOC: dose NH Alpha at 1ml per 500L per day if your corals show color loss and your TNb is in the green range.

TRITON Organics uses an Alpha/Beta system for both nitrogen and phosphorus supplements. Alpha variants (TRITON NH Alpha, TRITON P Alpha) are for reef aquariums without cyanobacteria or nuisance algae issues. Beta variants (TRITON NO Beta, TRITON P Beta) are for systems where cyanobacteria or algae are present alongside the nutrient deficiency. The right choice depends on your system's condition, not just the missing nutrient. Both variants support the TRITON Ratio and are guided by N-DOC or ICP test results.

A ULNS reef tank runs at very low nitrogen and phosphorus levels — common in SPS-dominant systems. These tanks need careful nutrient management to prevent starvation. TRITON Bio Base ULNS is specifically designed for this scenario: an organic support system that boosts beneficial metabolism and helps balance the N:C:P ratio without adding organic carbon. This allows ULNS reefers to combine Bio Base ULNS with their preferred carbon dosing method.

TRITON N-DOC measures three parameters no other aquarium test can quantify: inorganic carbon (TIC), organic carbon (TOC), and total nitrogen (TNb). These reveal your reef's N:C:P Ratio — the balance between nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus. When your N-DOC results show a deficiency, specific dosing instructions for TRITON Organics products appear in your analysis — telling you exactly which product, how much, and how often. This eliminates blind dosing and enables data-driven nutrient management.
