TRITON Single Elements
Trace Element Dosing Calculator
Calculate exactly how much TRITON single element supplement your reef needs. Enter your ICP test results and aquarium volume — get precise dosing for 18 trace, minor, and major elements in seconds.
Calculate Your Element Dosage
Enter Your ICP Results
Enter your aquarium volume and your current and desired element levels from your ICP-OES test results. The calculator determines the exact supplement amount and safe daily maximum for each TRITON single element product.

How It Works
Three Steps to Precise Dosing
Get Your ICP Results
Submit a water sample for TRITON ICP-OES analysis. Your report shows current levels for all 18 elements at parts-per-billion precision.
Enter Current and Desired Levels
Input your measured values and target levels for each element you want to correct. The calculator handles the conversion automatically.
Dose the Calculated Amount
Add the recommended amount of each TRITON single element supplement to your aquarium. Never exceed the maximum daily dosage — split larger amounts across multiple days.
Important Notes
Safe Supplementation Practices
Always dose gradually. Never exceed the maximum daily dosage shown for each element. If the total required amount is larger than the daily maximum, split the dosage across multiple days.
These are individual element supplements, not a replacement for Core7. TRITON single element products correct specific deficiencies identified by ICP testing. Your primary supplementation system (Core7, Balling, or Calcium Reactor) handles ongoing major element consumption.
Use TRITON ICP testing for accurate current levels. The calculator requires precise measurements. TRITON ICP-OES analysis measures 40+ parameters at laboratory precision — hobby test kits do not provide the accuracy needed for targeted supplementation.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
If the total dosage exceeds the maximum daily dose, split the total amount across multiple days. For example, if the calculator shows 10 ml total but the max daily dosage is 2 ml, dose 2 ml per day for 5 days. Never exceed the max daily dosage in a single day — gradual correction is safer for your reef and allows the system to adjust.
Yes, you can dose multiple TRITON single element supplements on the same day. Each product is formulated to be compatible with the others. However, add them to different areas of your sump or with some time between additions to avoid localised concentration spikes. Always respect the max daily dosage for each individual element.
Re-test with a TRITON ICP-OES analysis 1 month after you finish dosing the calculated amount. This confirms the element has reached the desired level or is used up already and allows you to verify stability. For ongoing maintenance, test every 2 to 3 months to catch any drift.
Trace elements (like Vanadium, Chromium, Iron) are present in reef water at very low concentrations measured in micrograms per litre (µg/L). Minor elements (Fluoride, Bromine, Boron, Strontium) and major elements (Potassium, Sulphur, Calcium, Magnesium) are present at much higher concentrations measured in milligrams per litre (mg/L). The distinction matters because major elements are consumed faster and require larger supplementation amounts, often dosed as powders (grams) rather than liquids (ml).
If you are using the full TRITON Method with Core7 Flex Base Elements, your major and minor elements are already covered by the Core7 formulation, while trace elements are managed through Infusion (included in Component 1b), creating a complete baseline supplementation system for your filtration setup.
Individual element supplements are only required if your ICP test identifies a specific deficiency that Core7 alone is not correcting, depending on biological demand within the system.
In this way, Core7 provides a comprehensive foundation for major, minor, and baseline trace element supply, while ICP analysis reveals only the remaining specific elemental needs of the aquarium dictated by your corals and other animals. These can then be precisely corrected through single-element dosing or the MYTE subscription.
You only need this calculator if you want to experiment with setpoints outside of our recommended ranges. If you use a TRITON ICP test, all calculations are done automatically for you and are based on your habitat, observed issues, and years of research at the Great Barrier Reef.
Your current levels come from a TRITON ICP-OES water analysis. The target levels, in this case, are flexible and ultimately up to you.
