TRITON Dosing Calculators

Precision Dosing

The TRITON Core7 Consumption Calculator is a free online dosing tool that converts your aquarium's alkalinity consumption rate and system volume into an exact daily Core7 dose in millilitres — calibrated to TRITON's proprietary formulations and validated against 500,000+ ICP-OES water analyses.

Core7 Consumption Calculator

Measure your aquarium's alkalinity (dKH) level, wait 24 hours without dosing, then measure again — the difference is your daily consumption. Enter that value and your total system volume below. The result is the daily dose in millilitres for each of the five Core7 solutions (1, 2, 3a, 3b), dosed in equal amounts.

New systems: Once consumption becomes measurable, start with 2 ml per 100 L per day. Test daily and adjust dosing as needed.

Growing SPS corals increase demand. A system requiring 20 ml/day today may need 30 ml/day six months later. Always test your dKH 2–3 times per week and adjust dosing as needed.

"A 400-litre tank with dense SPS might consume 10× the alkalinity of the same volume with soft corals. The calculator removes guesswork from the most critical daily task in reef keeping."

Frequently Asked Questions

The calculator accepts litres. To convert US gallons, multiply by 3.785. A unit converter is available on the TRITON Toolkit page.

If your alkalinity shows zero consumption over 24 hours, your system may be very new, have minimal coral biomass, or be overdosed with alkalinity buffer. Wait until you can observe measurable change — consumption only becomes visible once growth begins. If consumption remains near zero despite visible coral growth, contact the TRITON team for support.

Dosing Starts With Data

Your reef's water chemistry is unique. An ICP-OES analysis gives you the baseline — the calculator turns it into action.
